Coral Links Foundation (R)

Our NGO's work is crucial for empowering communities, fostering sustainable development, and addressing key social and environmental challenges.

Coral Link Foundation, a nonprofit organization established in 2016 in Hubli, is dedicated to creating awareness and fostering development across diverse fields. The foundation actively works in areas such as agriculture, animal husbandry, dairy and fisheries, biotechnology, and environmental conservation. It also focuses on social issues like education, health and family welfare, HIV/AIDS awareness, legal aid, human rights, and labor and employment. Coral Link Foundation supports marginalized communities through initiatives in Dalit upliftment, minority issues, and rights advocacy. The organization promotes rural and urban development, poverty alleviation, and vocational training. Additionally, it is involved in innovative fields like new and renewable energy, information and communication technology, and scientific research to drive sustainable growth.

Programs

Women's Skill Development in Old Hubli

The Food Processing Training Program in Old Hubli focused on empowering 15 women by enhancing their skills in various aspects of food processing. The training covered essential topics, including the processing of dairy products, oilseeds, legumes, pulses, and honey, along with food safety management, packaging, and hygiene practices. The program also introduced participants to food legislations, good manufacturing practices (GMP), and the equipment requirements necessary for product manufacturing, promoting skill development and economic empowerment among women.

Health Program Initiatives in Dharwad District

Our NGO is dedicated to promoting health and well-being in Dharwad district by organizing various health programs, including blood donation camps, AIDS awareness days, and eye check-up camps. These initiatives aim to provide essential medical services and support to those in need, ensuring a healthier and more informed community.

Biodiversity Management Program

CORAL LINKS FOUNDATION (R) Dharwad, under the Department of Forest Ecology and Environment, has established 167 Gram Panchayat level Biodiversity Management Committees (BMCs) in Dharwad District to promote conservation and sustainable use of biological resources in accordance with the Biological Diversity Act of 2002. The program includes preparing the People's Biodiversity Register (PBR) by conducting baseline surveys, documenting local biodiversity and traditional knowledge, and compiling reference materials. It aims to involve local communities, students, and experts in documenting agro-biodiversity and surveying wild biodiversity, including ecosystems, forests, and wildlife. The initiative focuses on equitable sharing of benefits derived from India's rich biological resources.

Kannada Culture Programmes: World Population Day Observation

Our society observed World Population Day on 11-07-2024 at Government Girls College, Navalgund, Dharwad, with a focus on Kannada culture. As part of the event, a seminar was conducted along with an essay writing contest on the theme "Youth's Role in Cultural Activities" to benefit college students. A total of 190 students attended the seminar, and 80 students participated in the essay writing competition. Prizes were awarded to the winners of the essay contest by our organization.

World Environment Day

With the support of the Karnataka Biodiversity Board, Bengaluru, our society observed World Environment Day at Asad Khan Lari Urdu High School, Dharwad, on 05-06-2023, and at Shanti Sadan, Dharwad, on 14-06-2024. The events included seminars, an elocution competition for high school and college students, and a tree plantation program in collaboration with Social Forestry Sedam & Dharwad. The winners of the elocution competition were awarded prizes by our NGO.

Health Checkup Camp

On Dec 15, 2023, the Coral Links Foundation, in collaboration with the local health department, organized a free Health Camp in Krishnapur Village, Old Hubli, Dharwad District, Karnataka. This initiative provided access to essential healthcare services for over 60 rural residents, including 30 women. The camp offered general health check-ups, specialized services for pregnant and lactating women, counseling sessions, and gynecological check-ups, addressing the community's various health needs.

Teachers' Day Celebration on September 5, 2023

Teachers' Day, celebrated annually on September 5th in India, commemorates the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the first Vice President and second President of India, who was also a dedicated educationist. During this year's celebration, the Foundation President delivered a speech to the students, followed by the distribution of prizes and sweets to mark the occasion.

World Anti-Child Labour Day Celebration

With the support of the district administration and the National Child Labour Project, Dharwad, we organized World Anti-Child Labour Day at the National Child Labour Residential School in Alnavar, Hubballi, on 25-06-2023. The event featured folk songs and sports competitions to benefit child laborers, along with a seminar for Self-Help Group (SHG) members and Gram Panchayat (GP) members. The seminar aimed to raise awareness about child labor issues and was followed by a prize distribution ceremony for the winners of the folk songs and sports competitions.

Mega Voter Awareness Campaign Launched in Raynal Village

On March 14, 2022, a Mega Voter Awareness Campaign was launched in Raynal Village, near Hubli City, to boost voter awareness and participation in the Lok Sabha Elections of 2019. The campaign, organized by our foundation, targeted ten Lok Sabha constituencies in Karnataka with historically low voter turnout.
